SPO's departmental bicycle program encourages DURP faculty, students, and prospective students to use alternative modes of transportation on and around campus. Riding a bicycle is the perfect way to get around Champaign-Urbana – biking is fast, easy, fun transportation that gets users from Point A to Point B. SPO bikes are FREE to borrow.

Faculty or student interested in learning and trying out biking on campus

Borrow A Bike
(1) Pick up keys from the front desk of 111 office in Temple Hoyne Buell. Office hours: Monday – Friday, 9AM-5PM. (2) SPO bicycles are locked outside of TBH at the bike racks next to the parking lot. (3) Ride safely! Properly lock your SPO bike. Must provide own helmet. Turn on bike lights (provided) at night. See below for more details on bike safety and road rules. (4) Please return your SPO bike within 3 days, and bring keys back to the front desk. If there are any bike maintenance needs, email firstname.lastname@example.org or inform the DURP office’s front desk. (Don’t worry, you’re not going to get in trouble.)
Campus Bike Center - The Campus Bike Center provides tools, parts, refurbished bikes for sale, and dedicated volunteers to help shop members and the larger community with their bicycle maintenance needs.
